Red Monk

Red Monk is my current edition of a Belgian Dubbel. I love brewing this beer. It is a light bodied beer yet dark, rich, and nutty. I’ve tried my hand at improving this brew for a few years now. This one is pretty spot on.

Makes 10 gallons

INGREDIENTS:

16 lbs Belgian Pale Malt

2.5 lbs CaraMunich 1 Malt

.5 lb. CaraFoam Malt

2.5 lbs Red Wheat Malt

1.5 lbs Special B Malt

1 lb Flaked Oats

1 lb Rice Hulls

2 lbs Simplicity 1SRM Candi Sugar

1.5 oz 5.2%AA Hallertau Hops (60 minutes)

.5 oz 3.8%AA Hallertau Hops (60 minutes)

2 ea Whirlfloc Tablets (10 minutes

1 oz 3.8%AA Hallertau Hops (5 minutes)

1 pkg WLP300 Monastery Ale Yeast
